Pain Management Center welcomes new provider


Theresa Cox, CMCN, MSN, FNP-BCAscension Borgess Allegan Hospital is pleased to welcome Theresa Cox, CMCN, MSN, FNP-BC, to its medical staff. Theresa is now seeing patients at the Ascension Borgess Allegan Hospital Pain Management Center.

Theresa has over 20 years experience providing high-quality patient care, first as a registered nurse, and the last five years as a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has extensive experience providing safe and responsible pain management treatment options to patients. Theresa has a Master of Science in nursing from Walden University and completed her nurse practitioner education through Indiana Wesleyan University.

“My philosophy of care is simple,” said Cox. “In order to treat the patient, you must treat the whole patient. The care must encompass the life experiences of the patient, as well as their values, spiritual beliefs, culture and support system.”

The Ascension Borgess Allegan Hospital Pain Management Center diagnoses and creates balanced, individualized treatment plans for patients based on a number of considerations, including the cause and level of pain. Conditions treated include neck and back pain, headaches, fibromyalgia, chronic pelvic pain, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), nerve damage, as well as pain associated with arthritis, muscle spasms and shingles.
